M J Mapp

The issue.

M J Mapp places the delivery of sustainable property management services at the core of their business and waste is a key focus area. In 2014 M J Mapp undertook a review of its waste management services to achieve these objectives which led to a partnership with SWRnewstar.

The solution.

Each M J Mapp property is different. Working closely with M J Mapp to understand their clients’ objectives we have developed and implemented bespoke site-specific solutions at over 100 properties.

This multi-layered approach helps each property move towards the corporate objective of ‘zero waste to landfill and maximisation of recycling’.

Our programme to engage teams at each site has also increased recycling rates, reduced vehicle movements and improved the environmental performance.

"The SWRnewstar team have built strong relationships with our property managers to ensure we are continually improving against performance measures"
Carl Brooks, Head of Sustainability

The results.

One high performing site is 55 Bishopsgate, a Grade A 198,000 sq ft mixed use building in Central London.

Results for 55 Bishopgate are:

increased recycle 29% increase in recycling
recycle vehicle Reduced vehicle movements
Award 2017 Green Apple award

"Sustainability is very much part of our business ethos with the achievement of a ‘Balanced Business’ being one of our three core objectives. Key service partners are essential in ensuring we achieve this and it is refreshing to partner with a supplier who not only understands our ethos but helps us deliver it.

The SWRnewstar team have consistently built strong relationships with our property managers alongside a number of our national suppliers, to ensure we are continually improving against financial, and non-financial performance measures. We very much look forward to developing our joint efforts over the coming months and years to build on the achievements to date."
