Top 20 finish for Kim Murray at International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation World Cup

Last week Kim Murray competed in the IBSF World Cup in Lake Placid, USA and achieved a personal  best time to finish in the top 20.

“I finished 19th in the second World Cup in Lake Placid, bettering my finish from the week before and also setting a new push PB of 5.37 which ranked 8th in the second run.  I was pleased with the improvements I made and happy that this was reflected in the end result…. Lake Placid host the World Championships in 2021; the year before the Olympic Games so I am keeping the bigger picture in mind and happy I got to train and race there this year in preparation for that.”

After a Christmas break, the World Cup circuit switches to Europe, with 6 further races scheduled before the season’s showpiece, the World Championships, take place back in Germany in late February.

SWRnewstar has sponsored Kim since 2017 and support her commitment to the ultimate goal of competing at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, in Beijing. Kim was a long jump competitor before switching to the ice and taking up skeleton.
